Dr. R.J. Guideng grew up in Las Vegas and built his entire academic career in the city he calls home. He completed his undergraduate studies in Pre-Professional Biology at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas before earning his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry from the UNLV School of Dental Medicine, where he was recognized with the Removable Prosthodontic Award upon graduation. Even before receiving his degree, he was giving back: as a student, he volunteered at the UNLV Saturday Morning Children’s Clinic, the Huntridge Teen Clinic, and the Huntridge Homeless Clinic, developing a hands-on sense of service that has stayed with him throughout his career.
After graduating, Dr. Guideng joined the faculty at UNLV’s School of Dental Medicine as an Associate Clinical Faculty member, supervising student clinicians across procedures from comprehensive exams to oral surgery. That experience deepened his surgical foundation and reinforced his commitment to precision. Over the years, he has pursued some of the most rigorous credentialing available in implant dentistry, earning his Fellowship and ultimately his Diplomate status with the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry, a distinction held by a small percentage of dentists nationally.
At Mesa Dental, he brings that expertise to every implant case, working alongside Dr. Emily Browner to deliver comprehensive care from single-tooth replacements to complex full-arch restorations.

Dr. Guideng holds Diplomate status with the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry, one of the most rigorous credentials available to implant dentists in the United States. Earning a Diplomate designation requires documented clinical cases, written examinations, and peer review, and it is held by only a fraction of practicing dentists nationally. He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, reflecting both his clinical achievement and his ongoing engagement with the field’s most advanced developments.
That commitment to continuing education extends beyond credentials. Dr. Guideng regularly attends national implant dentistry conferences and stays current with evolving techniques in full-arch rehabilitation, including the biomechanical principles that determine whether an All-on-X case performs well five years out or twenty. For patients considering dental implants or full-arch restoration in the Las Vegas area, that level of focused, credentialed expertise is the difference between a provider who occasionally places implants and one whose entire clinical identity is built around them.
Many patients who come to Dr. Guideng have been managing tooth loss for years, cycling through temporary fixes, living with dentures that never felt right, or putting off a procedure they assumed wasn’t possible for them. His first step is always to give those patients a clear, honest picture of where they stand.
A consultation with Dr. Guideng isn’t a sales pitch. It’s an evaluation. He reviews bone volume, tissue health, bite relationships, and restorative goals before any recommendation is made, because the right implant plan starts with understanding the full picture, not just the missing teeth. For patients who feel anxious about surgery, Mesa Dental is certified to offer both IV and oral sedation, so comfort is part of the plan from the start. Patients leave knowing exactly what their options are, what the process looks like, and what to realistically expect.
One of the practical advantages of Mesa Dental’s structure is that implant patients don’t have to coordinate between a general dentist and a separate oral surgeon. Dr. Guideng and Dr. Browner work in the same practice, which means the surgical and restorative phases of a patient’s treatment are managed by a team that communicates directly. Treatment planning happens in one place, and the transition from surgery to final restoration is handled without the communication gaps that can occur when multiple offices are involved.
For patients considering a smile makeover that includes both implant work and cosmetic treatment, that coordination is especially valuable. Both doctors are familiar with the case from the start, and the plan accounts for the full picture rather than just one phase of treatment.
Mesa Dental is a fee-for-service practice located in the Spring Valley area of Las Vegas, right on the border of Summerlin. The practice is built around providing comprehensive, unhurried care to patients who are serious about their oral health and want a provider who treats them accordingly. Dr. Emily Browner leads the cosmetic and restorative side of the practice, and Dr. Guideng brings the surgical implant expertise that completes the team.
